Positions, Part One
-
Overview
"The show is structured by an established community of conversations in and around practices and positions that touch on painting and more. Perhaps most importantly, these artists and their work are part of an extended conversation about not only painting and art, but who we are and where we are going."
–John Slyce, curator
Alma Pearl is thrilled to announce Positions, a two-part exhibition that explores positions in painting across generations in the expansive field of the medium. Curated by the writer and critic John Slyce, the show presents approaches to painting as image and object, event as platform–a site of activism, expression and experimentation. The show is structured by relationships both social and professional animated by the medium of painting and much more. Supporting and forging relationships, communities and conversations is central to the mission of Alma Pearl.
